The said incident happened at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS), Din Tai Fung (DTF) outlet.
A netizen by the name of Joane saw a small sized lady sitting outside the outlet on the floor.
Figuring that she was probably waiting for her turn to be called, Joane went off and came back after checking the queue system online.
When she returned, she saw the same lady sitting on the floor but this time it was different as she saw another lady, presumably the employer of the small sized lady, coming out to ask for some items from her and even scolded her in a harsh tone.
It then dawned on Joanne that the small sized lady was not there to queue for her turn, but rather to wait for the employer and family to finish dining at DTF.

Went to check on helper
Joane went to check on the helper, and found out that she had not had her dinner and was waiting for her employer and family to finish theirs.
Thinking that she might not have money to purchase her dinner, Joane offered cash to the helper but was rejected.
They then went to BreadTalk to get some bread for her but she seemed too afraid to consume the bread, as if she was worried of the backlash she would receive from her employer.
However, she thanked Joane and showed a face full of gratitude.
In her story, Joane understood that the helper’s employer’s family already had 5 pax which is why she could not join them inside the restaurant but she thought that the employer could have done better by at least letting her wait inside the hotel room, or split tables inside DTF or at least let her sit at ToastBox while waiting for them.

Wished they could have done more to help the helper
At the end of the whole incident, Joane shares that she wished that they could have done more to help the helper but feared that the employer would scold the helper for receiving help from them.
She reflected and said that they were glad to have extended a helping hand to the helper and hope that she will not go to sleep tonight on an empty stomach or an empty heart.
Joane also wish that people would treat each other with respect and dignity just like the Confucian teaching of:
“Don’t do unto others what you don’t want done unto you”
