A man chatted with a 12-year-old girl on Bigo Live and ended up making her pregnant, who later ended up getting an abortion.
The accused Lok Yong Quan did the deed when he was 18-years-old and appeared in court on Thursday (March 3) who is now 23, he pleaded guilty in court for two counts of rape charges.
He is facing a total of 11 charges which includes the penetration of a minor and other statutory rape charges.
How it happened?
In 2017, The girl initiated a conversation to him by sending a love icon and Lok started chatting with her, he asked for her age and found out that the girl is only 12-years-old.
Only after a day, they meet at Bukit Gombak MRT and they went to Lok’s home.
He then asked the 12-year-old to a sex act which she consented in. For the next 5 days and in December he continued doing it with the girl with no protection.
In December 2017, the girl told Lok that she was pregnant and the girl went for an abortion.
As the girl is still a minor, the clinic/hospital which performed the abortion would informed the authorities on the incident, The Ministry of Social and Family Development’s Child Protective Service made a police report which resulted in the case coming to light.
Lok will be back in court on April 13 for his sentencing.
If he is found guilty of statutory rape he can be jailed up to 20 years and/or fine and/or face the rotan.
