A 47 year old man will be charged in court tomorrow (9 March) for allegedly possessing arms without a valid license.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said that he will also be charged for importing controlled items without a permit and for possessing a scheduled weapon.
Raid conducted at man’s residence
A raid was conducted on the man’s residence near Yishun Avenue 6 on 3 December 2021.
Weapons that were seized by officers from the SPF included:
- Airsoft pistols
- Replica pistol
- A nunchaku
Two counts of possession of arms without a licence as well as another two counts of importation of controlled goods without a permit and also a count of possession of a scheduled weapon will be brought against the man.
Penalties
For possession of arms without a valid license, the man could face a jail term of up to three years and a fine of up to $5,000.
For importing controlled items without a permit, the man could face a jail term of up to two years and/or fined up to $10,000.
For possessing scheduled weapons, the man could face a jail term of up to five years and receive up to six strokes of caning.
