Is it normal that I am not even 30 but i already feel so jaded about life?
My job is just a source of income and i have zero interest nor passion in it. I find myself so unmotivated on certain days.
It’s hard to connect with old friends because priorities and outlook have shifted and we barely have common topics now.
Nothing really gets me excited anymore. I’m not sad per se but sometimes i feel like there is a huge void within me.
Life is too fast paced and everyone keeps harping on productivity and wanting to achieve more. So sick of the rat race and having people guilt trip you because you do not have some big career ambitions and hunger for success.
I just want to be at peace.

- It is normal cause life is so stressed out and fast-paced here. Everyone is just chasing something or paying the bills. I make it a point not to retire here if possible.
When we are young, we chase after paper qualifications, mugging late at night and thinking it could secure our future.
When we graduate and enter the workforce, we have to do OT late at night to pay the bills.
When we have kids, we have to work even harder to pay for tuition classes, insurance, and outdoor activities for the kids.
Just realize it is an endless struggle that will never end unless you find a place with a lower cost of living and build your life and asset over there or you work 10x harder than the rest and climb into the C-suite to enjoy what Singapore has to offer.
- Yup I feel the same. I’ve been trying to figure out what can I do about it and I realised I can’t do much. Only thing is use the money to fuel your passion/interest. Like travelling, gaming, food. Only a handful of people will truly enjoy their work. I know some people like to cook, become a chef and started to hate cooking. Turning your hobby into a job can destroy you.
