A 33-year-old man will face charges in court for allegedly causing harm voluntarily with hazardous weapons or means.
The Police received many calls regarding a man reportedly harming others with a razor blade near Blk 59 Strathmore Avenue at 6.20 p.m. on March 14, 2022. The man was apprehended by police in a timely manner.
The individual claimed to have heard voices in his brain urging him to attack others while at the specified place, according to preliminary findings. He then allegedly attacked some passers-by with a razor blade he had on him, hurting two of them. When a 38-year-old guy was taken to the hospital with lacerations, he was conscious. Minor injuries were sustained by a 49-year-old woman.
The man has past records with the Institute of Mental Health. He is also traced for consumption of controlled drugs.
The razor blade was seized as a case exhibit. Investigations are ongoing.
The man will be charged in court on 16 March 2022 for the offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means, under Section 324 of the Penal Code 1871.
Thus far, there is no indication that this incident is related to the earlier incident at Buangkok Square Mall.
