He was sentenced on 15 March to 21 weeks imprisonment, after calling his IMH case officer and telling that he wanted to “kill people”, sparking an manhunt for him after the police were informed.

What happened?

Zakaria made a phone call to his IMH case officer on 13 January this year, telling her that he wanted to “kill people” and “kill everyone”.

The officer then made a police report and a manhunt across Singapore was then conducted to locate him.

He was then found at Woodlands Waterfront Park with a large chopper that same evening at about 8.45pm.

He was also found with a large chopper measuring 30.5cm, with a blade that was 18.5cm long.

According to Today, he had apparently bought the chopper after the aforementioned phone call, keeping it inside a plastic bag and bringing it with him to the park.

He had also apparently wanted to kill his father for disowning him.
