Here is his post

I would like to address a very serious concern on NUH A&E when my 36 weeks pregnant wife was sent to the hospital on 15 March 2022 around 10.30pm.

On 15 March 2022 around 9.30pm, my wife was bleeding profusely from the birth canal when she was bathing, i called 995 immediately to require for assistance. Paramedics arrived within 10mins and attended to my wife immediately. She was conveyed to NUH A&E immediately. She arrived at the hospital estimated around 10.30pm and I received a text message that i can received patient updates at 10.38pm.

Upon arriving to NUH A&E, paramedics told the nurse who is on duty on the condition of my wife who is still bleeding profusely at that time. The nurse came and only setup the monitoring device to check on my wife vital signs and left. She was left there bleeding profusely and left unattended for an estimated time of 2 hours. No doctors and nurses came to check and attend to my wife for 2 hours and no one informed her that there is no bed in the maternity ward.

After 2 hours of painfully waiting, my wife was sent to the maternity ward. Only at this time I received a text message at 12.48am which my wife mentioned is only to wheel her up to the maternity ward (and that was the so-called attended by the A&E officer on duty) .Doctors and nurses attended to my wife immediately when she reached the maternity ward. After checking on my wife and the baby, the doctors told my wife that the baby heart structure was there but there was no heartbeat and hence he has passed away.

I would like to find out why is there a time lapse of 2 hours when the moment my wife reached A&E department?????? Isn’t losing excessive blood a life threatening situation to a person who is not pregnant, let alone a pregnant lady.

This is a really unfortunate incident and i can’t stop thinking could my baby be saved if only we were attended to promptly. I just want to be sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Update: 21/03 @ 1230hrs Received first call from NUH assuring us that Investigations are ongoing now.
