A 45-year-old man has been arrested for his alleged connection in a vandalism case.
On March 27, 2022, at around 10.55 p.m., the Police were notified of a vandalism incident at Block 9 North Bridge Road. According to preliminary investigations, the individual reportedly painted black paint on eight CCTV cameras and severed the wiring of two cameras.
Officers from the Central Police Division identified the individual and detained him on March 29, 2022, based on ground investigations and the use of police cameras.
The man will be charged in court on 30 March 2022 for vandalism under Section 3 of the Vandalism Act 1966. The offence of vandalism carries a punishment with imprisonment of up to three years, caning with not less than three strokes and not more than eight strokes, and a fine of up to $2,000.
The Police deal with those who commit such inconsiderate acts firmly, as such acts can inconvenience the public and may delay the Police’s response to persons in need.
