Photos emerged online showing a dog sitting by the side of a Ukrainian man in the streets of Bucha, after its owner was reportedly shot dead by Russian forces.
The graphic photo was shared online by UAnimals, an animal rights organisation in Ukraine.
The dog was seen sitting by the side of the man’s body, who was lying on a pavement beside the road with a bicycle on top of him.
The dog was seen in another photo getting up, as a group of rescuers arrived and salvaged the corpse of the dead man.
Reports have been pouring out of Ukraine, with many accounts of rape and murder of Ukrainian civilians emerging from the ground.
Dead bodies of Ukrainian civilians could be seen strewn all over the streets, as mass graves were also discovered, along with bodies with their hands tied up being found with gunshot wound on the back of their heads.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky visited Bucha on 4 April, and he was seen to be visibly distraught and said that it was “very difficult to talk”.
