According to Singapore Food Agency, a food manufacturer, Seng Huat Bean Curd Pte Ltd located at 15 Jalan Tepong #04-02/03, Jurong Food Hub was forced to shut down after they were caught manufacturing in unsanitary conditions.
Seng Huat Bean Curd Pte Ltd, a licensed food establishment, was fined $3,000 by the Court today for failure to keep its premises properly maintained and clean.
Recalled, returned and destroyed
According to Strait Times, over 2,900kg of soy products were removed from supermarkets an markets and later incinerated at Tuas South.
In court, the prosecuting officer said that  “Investigations found that Ng Sheng Jie, the operation manager of Seng Huat Bean Curd, was oblivious to the poor food hygiene lapses.”
On 29 July 2021, officers from the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) inspected the premises of Seng Huat Bean Curd Pte Ltd and found widespread pest infestations such as cockroaches, drain flies and a dead rodent. The premises was also found to be poorly maintained.
