Influencer/Youtuber/Penthouse model Ms Pui Yi a Malaysian who shot to fame earlier this year for her daring content and controversial methods of making money is back in the news again.
The model recently went to Vietnam for a holiday on April 2 and began taking her usual photos but with a twist of the local culture. In one of the photos, she wore the traditional Vietnamese dress known as “Ao Dai” but her rendition was just wearing the top and without the bottom.
The dress is normally accompanied by long pants.
Vietnamese Netizens Triggered
With her photos going viral, many Vietnamese netizens said that she is not respecting their culture by wearing the traditional dress in such a ‘vulgar’ way.
While some netizens defended her and say “why are you taking note of her vulgar content in the first place” calling those that are complaining as contradicting their own statements
Ms Pui Yi apologized on Facebook
Ms PuiYi then posted a apology message in Vietnamese stating:
Greetings to all of you in Vietnam.
I myself previously posted some pictures of my trip to Hoi An city of Vietnam, because inappropriate dressing affects the Vietnamese network community, I apologize for my actions and my actions disrespecting Vietnamese traditional culture, currently i also deleted these images and really want to send my apologies to everyone .
People’s comments I read very carefully, I honestly have learned from people’s comments to me,I always remember and thank you for your advice.
Finally, I want to tell everyone that I really like Vietnam and hope there is still a chance to be able to go back to Vietnam to travel, for sure I will not let this happen again !
Once again I’m so sorry everyone . In the same way, I will also pay attention and learn more about the culture of each region around the world when traveling.

To my recent travel to Vietnam, there was a posting of mine that truly upset the people, and I deeply and sincerely apologize for my actions/content and the disrespect to the traditional culture of Vietnam, to which I have now taken down.
I have read each and every one of your comments and I do take it to heart, you are all amazing people and I absolutely loved my travels. I do hope to have another opportunity to be back in Vietnam and of course, take a different approach to shooting my content!
I apologize once again, and will be more sensitive to the local cultures all over the world.
