Over 300,000 petition signatures has been collected in less than a day calling for the release and justice for Sam Ke Ting.
Sam is a woman who was sentenced to 6 years in jail after an accident after the court found her guilty and responsible for the death of 8 teenagers who wrote modified bicycles in Johor.
According to China Daily , the Johor Bahru High Court today overturned the acquittal verdict of the Magistrate’s Court and ruled that the defendant Shen Ke ting was found guilty. She was then taken away by the policewoman in handcuffs.
She was sentenced to 6 years in prison, fined RM6,000, and had her driver’s license will be suspended for 3 years from the time she is released.

At least 4 petitions appeared online at Change.org after the final judgement, one of the petitions were titled
“Bebaskan Sam Ke Ting daripada pertuduhan memandu secara melulu #FreeSamKeTing”
Malaysians were horrified by the sentence of Sam as Malaysian roads are not well known for being brightly lit and netizens are pointing out that the death of the children were because of bad parenting.
