WATERLOO STREET TEMPLE TO OPEN ON SUNDAYS FROM 1 MAY, OFFERINGS STILL BANNED

The Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple has been closed on Sundays for a while now, but according to Shin Min Daily News, the temple will be open on Sundays and public holidays with effect from 1 May onwards.

However, devotees of the temple will still not be allowed to make offerings for the time being.

The Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, which is located at Waterloo Street, will be open on Sundays and public holidays from 7am to 6.30pm.

The afternoon queue will also be closed at 12.15pm and reopen at 1pm, where the temple will be undergoing some cleaning.

The updated opening hours is the first time the temple has opened on Sundays and public holidays since July last year.

Devotees visiting the temple are still required to put on their face masks and scan the SafeEntry to enter the temple.

The temple has also gotten rid of the odd-even NRIC numbers entry requirement earlier this year (February).
