MAN ARRESTED AFTER BREAKING INTO HOME AT TECK WHYE, $3,000 STOLEN

According to the Police media release, a 46-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking.

On 19 April 2022 at about 11.15pm, the Police were alerted to a case of housebreaking at a residential unit along Teck Whye Lane. Cash amounting to at least $3,000 was purportedly stolen.

Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within 24 hours from the time of report.

The man will be charged in court on 22 April 2022 with housebreaking, punishable under Section 451 of the Penal Code 1871.

The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.
