The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) announced yesterday (29 April) that with effect from today (30 April), self-service buffets will be allowed to resume in Singapore.
The resumption will apply to buffets at external venues, but licensees of F&B establishments offering self service buffets will need to provide customers with hand sanitisers with at least 60% alcohol, or gloves that are disposable.
There must be at least 2 bottles of hand sanitisers or two packets of disposable gloves at the buffet lines, and all starting points must be covered.
Signages are encouraged to be put up to remind patrons to sanitise their hands, of put on disposable gloves before they pick up the serving cutleries.
The establishments must also provide clean serving cutleries such as spoons and tongs to discourage patrons from using their own cutleries to pick up the food.
The serving cutleries must also be frequently cleaned or replaced with clean ones.
