MAN JAILED AFTER PUNCHING PREGNANT WIFE AT TAMPINES CARPARK

A woman who is almost due to birth is normally cared for by family members but this is not the case for an incident that happened at Tampines.

A 31-year-old pregnant woman was punched by her husband in a parking lot.

Background:

According to CNA, 27-year-old Niam Jinson pleaded guilty to count count of voluntarily hurt and was sentenced to 8 weeks in jail.

The incident happened at a Tampines carpark, the man was driving his car and told his wife to alight first.

However, his wife refused to step down of the car as she accused Niam of having an affair. This triggered Niam and he started attacking his wife.

He punched her in the head, back and face.

The woman turned the other way to protect herself and her unborn baby. Liam continued to assault by pulling her hair.

He then hold her face and tilted against him and he wanted his wife to face him.

He then threatened to kick her stomach.

It is unclear if the couple still lives together.
