MAN DIES AFTER DROWNING AT ROCHOR RIVER

A 26-year-old man was suspected of falling into the river late at night.

The Civil Defense Forces launched a large-scale search and rescue operation to find the man but Unfortunately, the man has drowned.

The drowning incident occurred in the Rochor River by the Beach Road in the middle of the night today.

According to Shin Min Daily News, a witness told Shin Min Daily news that police cars and fire trucks were at the scene at 00:00 midnight.

SCDF said that they confirmed that they were on the scene after receiving a call for help.

“Divers from the disaster rescue team conducted underwater search and rescue, assisted by an underwater Remotely-Operated Vehicle.”

According to reports, the civil defense personnel finally found a body, and the medical staff declared the person dead on the spot.

A 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said when questioned. “There is no suspicion of foul play after the initial investigation.”

Police investigations are ongoing.
