Fast and Furious director Justin Lin, quit the franchise following a reported dispute with actor Vin Diesel, stating that the movie is “not worth my mental health”.
Lin has directed five of the franchise’s movies, and he also co-wrote the latest movie, Fast X, and although he stepped away from directing, he will remain as a producer for the movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a source said that the reason for Lin’s departure was a major disagreement that happened between Vin Diesel and Lin.
They had disagreed over the script being changed, again and again, p[artly due to the unavailability of a key filming location and also because one of the villains has yet to be cast yet.
Vin Diesel has reportedly been very difficult to work with, with former franchise star Dwayne Johnson also having disputes with his (Diesel’s) work ethic.
Sources said that Vin Diesel was always late to the set and allegedly show up overweight for his shoots.
