A video went viral earlier this week showing a huge brawl that broke out at the taxi stand of Paya Lebar involving a huge group of men.
The Singapore Police confirmed that they are investigating the incident, which involved more than a dozen men, that took place on 3 May at about 7.30pm.
The police said that they were alerted to the incident that took place at 60 Paya Lebar Road, near the Paya Lebar MRT station and beside the taxi stand.
At the time of writing, police investigations are ongoing and the fight has been classified as a case of affray.
Potential penalties
According to Chapter 224 of the Penal Code, anyone who disturbs public peace by fighting in public is guilty of committing an affray.
Upon conviction, offenders could face a jail term of up to one year and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
