The Singapore Police said in a statement yesterday that 5 entertainment outlets were found to have allegedly breached rules during enforcement checks by the authorities on 238 public entertainment outlets.
The operation was conducted by the police along with STB, URA, SFA and SLA, and took place from 27 April to 3 May.
25 women were also arrested for allegedly working as freelance hostesses without valid work permits at 4 of the aforementioned outlets.
The women were from Thailand, China and Vietnam, and they are between the ages of 24 and 53.
7 women were found allegedly working as hostesses at Sim Lim outlet, drinking and providing companionship with patrons.
They allegedly had no valid work permits and were arrested under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
The outlet also allegedly had recorded music and supplied liquor across 5 units, but only had entertainment licenses for 4 of the units. The operator is being investigated by the authorities for offences under the Public Entertainments Act and the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act..
