He was involved in a motorcycle accident near Pioneer Road on 31 November, before Senior Staff Sergeant Muhammad Azhar and Sergeant (2) Firhan Abdul Rashid arrived at the scene.

Rao then admitted to Sgt Firhan that he had drunk alcohol and offered Sergeant Firhan Abdul Rashed a $50 note and a $5 note, trying to get the officer to not investigate him for a traffic incident.

The bribery attempt took place last year on 21 November, near Pioneer Road.

According to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), Sergeant Firhan had rejected Rao’s offer and referred the case to them (CPIB).
