President of Indonesia Joko Widodo said on 17 May that they will no longer require travelers who are fully vaccinated to provide a negative Covid test to enter the country.
Speaking on the Presidential Palace’s YouTube channel, the president said that domestic and international travelers who are fully vaccinated no longer need to take the PCR or Antigen tests to enter.
The new policy is set to take effect from today onwards (18 May).
The Indonesian government said that they hope the policy will be implemented well and that people are still expected to remain vigilant and to be adaptable to future changes.
Widodo also added that they are loosening their mask wearing policies as well, saying: “If people are conducting activities in outdoor spaces which are not crowded, they are allowed to not wear masks. However, for indoor activities and on public transportation, must still wear masks.”
