A Singaporean who was on holiday in Bangkok tested positive on an ART test on the 2nd last day of her trip, and was sent to serve a 10-day quarantine after reporting her results to the hotel.
The Singaporean, 32-year-old Amanda Lee, is fully vaccinated and currently halfway through her quarantine, and is expected to be “free” on 24 May.
She shared on her TikTok account that she felt “stupid” because she got infected at around the same time as the Vesak Day holidays.
She also had to pay a security deport of $4,000 and couldn’t get in touch with insurance companies because they were closed.
She also added that the doctors are all on holiday and no one could tell her how long she had to be there before she can fly back, and she also can’t change her flight details.
Some netizens have commented that she should’ve kept it to herself and “quietly” fly back to Singapore, saying that she brought this upon herself.
Lee then hit back at the comments, saying that she is trying to be socially responsible.
She said, “honestly, why is that so hard to understand? I didn’t want to get other people sick. I didn’t want to get the people I was travelling with sick,” she added.
“Am I going to wander around Bangkok and get more people sick? No!”
Much respect sister, kudos to you for being responsible.
