51 Y.O MAN ARRESTED FOR SERIES OF THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES

The Police have arrested a 51-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft from motor vehicles.

On 21 May 2022 at about 8.20am, the Police were alerted to an incident at the back lane of Lorong 27A Geylang, where a vehicle windscreen was smashed and the cashcard was found missing.

Officers from Bedok Police Division responded to the incident and discovered that other vehicles parked in the vicinity were found to be damaged as well. There were a total of six vehicles that were broken into and the cashcards were missing from the vehicles. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 22 May 2022. One EZ-link card and five cashcards were recovered and seized as case exhibits.

The man will be charged in court on 24 May 2022 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code 1871, which carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, a fine, or both.
