Our Active Mobility Enforcement Officers (AMEOs) continue to #KeepPathsSafe through regular and ad-hoc ops in areas frequented by cyclists and other Active Mobility users. #DayAndNight
Last night, we conducted a targeted operation on a group of riders with modified, non-compliant and unregistered active mobility devices gathering at Yishun Dam. Such groups have been known to race in the area before, endangering themselves and other road users. #SafetyFirst
We seized 4 non-compliant PMDs and 1 non-compliant PAB, of which 3 were unregistered and the other 2 had affixed false or handwritten number plates. #UpLorry. The group was also caught riding PMDs on roads and footpaths, where the devices are not allowed.
Reminder PMDs can only be used on cycling paths and Park Connectors, while PABs can only be used on roads, cycling paths and Park Connectors. We urge all cyclists and active mobility users to ride responsibly, observe prevailing traffic and device usage rules, and maintain the safety of our public paths and roads.
