The Singapore Police Force warned on Friday about the resurgence of scams involving parcel deliveries, where scammers are posing as parcel delivery companies.

More than $483,000 have been lost in the scams, with at least 350 people falling victims since January 2022.

The victims would receive emails or messages from the scammers posing as well known logistics companies and inform the victims that they had a parcel waiting for delivery.

The scammers would then tell the victims to click on a URL in order to enact payment, and after doing so, the victim would be redirected to a fake website and tricked into providing their credit/debit card details and OTP.

They would only realise that they had been scammed after discovering unauthorised transactions being made to their cards.
