A young boy was found trapped inside a locked Land Rover that was parked in Tiong Bahru, the child was locked inside for about 30 minutes and was facing the possibility of suffering a life-threatening heat stroke.
The boy’s mother and their maid, were outside the car and had apparently left their car key inside the car by accident, according to Shin Min Daily News.
A video of the incident also emerged on TikTok, showing a group of SCDF personnel trying to free the boy from the locked vehicle.
A crowd of onlookers had also gathered to watch what was going on.
The SCDF rescuers used a tool that appears to be a hammer and smashed the three corners of the glass at the rear door and removed the glass safely.
The boy was ultimately rescued.
Another video showed the boy reunited with his mother, presumably, and was seen crying from the traumatising experience.
The SCDF said that they received a call for help at 12 Lim Liak Street on 5 June at about 11.40am, and the rescuers utilised rescue equipment to free the trapped child.
The boy was later assessed by a paramedic on site and found to be unharmed and well.
