I don’t even know why I’m posting this here, but this is all so ridiculous to me, I just feel like I need to let it out somewhere.
My brother and I were talking the other day, and he told me a story about how he saw his friend’s girlfriend outside. He told me about how he let his friend know that she “went outside without his permission” and then grinned at me as he stated that she now no longer had a boyfriend.
Honestly, I was confused at first. I didn’t understand what he meant, so when he told me how he would never let his girlfriend go outside without his permission either, I laughed in his face. It sounded so ridiculous to me.
He got a little upset that I was laughing but dismissed me as “too inexperienced to understand” because I never had a boyfriend.
I think a lot about this conversation. My brother isn’t dating anyone as far as I am aware. He isn’t home most of the time and sleeps around a lot, I do know that, but I really hope he won’t actually start a long term relationship anytime soon. At least for as long as he has this immature mindset. He doesn’t treat me the way he treats other women because we have a pretty good relationship, but I know that’s only because I’m his sister and he sees me as “better” than most women because I don’t sleep around or whatever the fuck he thinks makes a woman worth less.
I don’t know what I’m trying to say. I do love my brother, but God, I hate the way he thinks and I can only pray it won’t get any worse.
