A video emerged online showing a man charging at another man with a chopper in hand, trying to slash at the other person.
The victim was seen in the video trying to defend himself with a chair and trying to fend off the attacker, who was eventually pinned down and subdued by the crowd.
The uncle (victim) was then seen in the later part of the video seated on a chair and nursing his wounds, as blood could be seen on his hands.
The attacker was purportedly later arrested by the police who arrived at the scene.
Potential penalties
According to Chapter 224 of the Penal Code, anyone who disturbs public peace by fighting in public is guilty of committing an affray.
Upon conviction, offenders could face a jail term of up to one year and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
According to Chapter 321 of the Penal Code, anyone who performs an act that causes hurt to a person is guilty of Voluntarily Causing Hurt.
Upon conviction, offenders could face a jail term of up to 3 years and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
According to Section 325 fo the Penal Code, anyone found guilty of voluntarily causing grievous hurt faces a jail term of up to 10 years, a fine, and/or caning.
