A 40-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested at Peace Centre for suspected drug offences on 13 July at about 9.20am.
Several police vehicles were seen at the site, including a Special Operations Command (SOC) tactical vehicle.
A netizen shared with STOMP that his friend was in the vicinity buying 4D when he witnessed the sight and added that “it was surreal, like filming a movie,” and that he thought it was an exercise.
He then went down to take a look about half an hour later, but only the police cars and forensics van remained – the SOC vehicles had already left.
He added that the atmosphere was calm at the scene despite the heavy police presence.
the Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that they were alerted to an incident that happened at 1 Sophia Road at about 9.30am.
They said that a 40-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested for suspected drug-related offences.
At the time of writing, police investigations are still ongoing.
