The Ministry of Health (MOH) earlier confirmed Singapore’s second local case of monkeypox on Wednesday (13 July).

The infected person is a 48-year-old British man living in Singapore, and his case is not linked to the previous cases here.
With his latest infection, this takes Singapore’s total tally for monkeypox to 5 (of which 3 were imported and 2 local cases).
MOH said that the man had tested positive for monkeypox on 13 July – he found rashes in his perianal region on 6 July before having a fever on 11th July.
He sought medical treatment on 13 July and was thereafter conveyed to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) later that day.

He is currently stable and warded at the NCID, with contact tracing efforts ongoing.
