PRC MAN TRIED TO BRIDE POLICE OFFICERS AT GEYLANG, JAILED

According to Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), a PRC national tried to bribe traffic police officers in Geylang and ended up getting charged.

38-year-old Han ShaoLu was sentenced to 8 weeks in jail earlier today after he tried to bribe police officers, reported CNA.

Background

On 12 June 2020, Han Shaolu (“Han”), 韩绍录, a 36-year-old (2020) PRC national, was charged with three counts of corruptly offering $100 to three police officers, Senior Staff Sergeant Roslan bin Abdul Rasip, Sergeant Muhammad Shakir Lim bin Muhammad Sharizal Lim, and Assistant Superintendent Tan Jia Ming, as an inducement to refrain from arresting Han.

Han was resting in a car at Geylang and officers approached him as he was suspected of drunk driving.

The officers rejected the bribe and reported the incident to CPIB.
