CAGED BIRDS FOUND DEAD AFTER FIRE IN CHOA CHU KANG

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), a fire took place at No 50 Choa Chu Kang Track 14.

The fire happened last night at around 7.35PM, caged birds were found dead. No one was injured due to the fire.

At about 7.35pm today (20 July), SCDF was alerted to a fire at the above-mentioned location.

The fire, which involved rows of potted plants in a nursery, was confined to an area of about 20 meters by 20 meters.

At the height of the firefighting operation, a total of five water jets were used to contain and prevent the fire from spreading.

The fire was extinguished within one and a half hours.

Several caged birds were found dead near the scene of the fire.

There were no other reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
