Actor Will Smith has just released a new video on his YouTube channel after disappearing from the public eye for months since the infamous slap incident during the Oscar’s earlier this year.
In his video, he addressed some of the questions that he has received from fans, as well as apologising to comedian Chris Rock and his family.
On why he didn’t apologize to Chris during his acceptance speech, Smith said that he was “fogged out by that point” and that “it’s all fuzzy”.
He revealed that he has since reached out to Chris but the latter was not ready to talk to him.
Smith then apologised, saying: “So I will say to you Chris, I apologize to you. My behaviour was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.”
Smith also apologised to Chris Rock’s mother, saying: “I saw an interview that Chris’ mother did, and you know, that was one of the things about that moment I just didn’t realize, and you know I wasn’t thinking, but how many people got hurt in that moment.”
“So I want to apologise to Chris’ mother. I want to apologise to Chris’ family, specifically Tony Rock (Chris Rock’s brother), you know we had a great relationship. Tony Rock was my man, and this is probably irreparable.”
