RYDE DRIVER SAYS HE ACCEPTS JOBS FIRST, BUT WON’T PICK UP UNLESS YOUR FARE IS THE HIGHEST

TikTok user @gracedotc0m, posted a video sharing a conversation that she had with the driver during one of her Ryde rides.

The driver was oblivious to Grace filming him, as he revealed some of the reasons as to why Ryde drivers take so long to reach you or why they cancel all the time.

The driver said that he could be on his way to pick the passenger up but if the app shows him another job with a higher fare and a pickup point that is closer, he will cancel his current job and accept the newer one.

He also explained why some drivers don’t go to the pickup points of the passengers directly, because they circle around the area to see if there are any newer jobs with a higher fare.

These are the loopholes that the drivers are exploiting, and it results in many unhappy passengers, who can’t seem to get a ride.

Grace then added in the comments section: “Nobody ask for my POV? The driver chatted non stop for 20+ min. For ALL the ride platform including Grab, Gojek, Tada, Ryde, Comfort. NONSTOP.”

She also added: “Anyway this is just his POV, not saying all is like that. But i do realise RYDE always have the long est waiting time so far.”
