DRUNK MAN PUSHED GIRL ONTO GROUND, THEN TRIED TO ENTER STRANGER’S CAR

A video emerged online showing a purportedly drunk man and woman making a nuisance of themselves in public.

The man was seen in the video shouting and pushing a woman and causing her to fall backwards onto the ground.

He then continued shouting before violently pulling a stranger’s car door, which was parked right beside them on the side of the road, before stumbling backwards.

The driver then alighted from his car and confronted the drunk man, and the latter then walked away, before returning and tried to start a fight with the driver.

He then stumbled and fell backwards onto the ground, before remaining seated on the ground, clapping and shouting.

The incident is believed to have happened along Prinsep Street.

Potential penalties

According to Chapter 321 of the Penal Code, anyone who performs an act that causes hurt to a person is guilty of Voluntarily Causing Hurt.

Upon conviction, offenders could face a jail term of up to 3 years and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
