A man in Yishun was seen in photos circulating online, drinking beer while sitting precariously on the edge of his 11-floor HDB flat’s window.
The incident happened on 31 August at about 7am, at Block 465A Yishun Avenue 6, according to Shin Min Daily News.
The man who was sitting dangerously on his window, is reportedly the owner of that particular HDB unit.
What happened?
Shin Min Daily News reported that the man had locked himself inside the flat, which was under renovation at the time.
The HDB unit was part of a brand new block of flats, and the other residents of the building had yet to move into the units yet.
The man was seen sitting on the edge of the window on the 11th story, wearing only a pair of black shorts and dangling his legs off the window.
He created a nuisance for about 3 hours and was seen holding on to the window with one hand while drinking beer with his other.
He was then seen climbing out of his window, holding onto the window pane with his feet still planted on the sill of the window.
Kena kicked back into the flat
The Singapore Civil Defence Force and officers from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team were activated, and the SCDF deployed air mattresses at the bottom of the HDB building.
SCDF officers also reportedly set up netting and kicked the man back into the unit, saving his life. He was subsequently arrested by the police and conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
