The Royal Thai Police at the Lumpini Police Station held a press conference on the Vietnamese pick pocket which robbed Singaporean tourists at the Erawan Shrine at Ratchaprasong Intersection.
On September 3 at 11:50 a.m. the three suspects committed a pickpocketing on Mrs Ho Lai Fang Elsie, a Singaporean tourist. Erawan Shrine area Ratchaprasong Intersection, Rama 1 Road, Lumpini Sub-District, Pathumwan District, Bangkok. A total of 44,455 baht (around S$1,700) in cash and 3 credit cards were stolen.
At 1:00 PM on September 20, 2022 at the Metropolitan Police Headquarters said arrested Ms Do Thi Ki. M Ho, 55 years old, Nguy Van Kong, 42 years old, and Phung Minh Hai, 32 years old (Vietnamese nationals) and charged them with theft and wrongfully distributing credit card information.
The investigative department checked the CCTV, and were able to track and arrest Ms. Do Ti Kim Ho with cash items. At a hotel within Soi Inthamara 49, Nguy Van Kong was arrested at the Ban Laem border crossing.Â
Pong Nam Ron district, Chanthaburi province, while fleeing the country, while Phung Min Hai is on the hunt. Both of them who were interrogated denied any wrongdoing.
The Police revealed that several years ago the Metropolitan Police had proceeded to arrest a gang of Vietnamese pickpockets. Who wreck havock in the commercial district and tourist attractions in Bangkok until the disappeared silently during COVID times but the country reopened and these gangs came back to start committing crimes.
