Singapore has been ranked as having the best roads in the world with a score of 9.44 out of 10, according to driver’s education resource website Zutobi.
Singapore’s roads were ranked above countries like Netherlands, Switzerland, Japan and Denmark in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th places respectively.
Malaysia, on the other hand, was ranked 12th from last, at 48th place.
The roads of countries were analysed by Zutobi according to factors such as road quality, improvements in road quality, deaths on the road and the size of the road networks.
The tabulated data would then factor into the scoring of the roads of the different countries, and Singaproe ended up with a score of 9.44 out of 10, being the only country with more than 9 points.
LTA’s statement on the ranking
We are heartened to learn that Singapore has emerged as tops as having the best roads in the world – in fact we attained the highest in the overall roads score and recorded the fewest road traffic deaths vis-a-vis other countries like the Netherlands, Switzerland and Japan.
