The SCDF soon arrived and broke into the unit, but as it turns out, the woman was simply sleeping and it was a false alarm.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the incident happened on 19 October and one of the neighbours said that they saw SCDF officers heading to one of the units to saw off a lock.

Wife was not responding

The man who called the SCDF, an elderly man in his 70s, told SMDN that he returned home that day realised that he forgot his keys.

His home’s front door was open but his front gate was locked, and he then called out to his wife to help him open the door.

But his wife didn’t respond despite his repeated shouts and knocks, and he then got worried that something might’ve happened to her.

He then called a locksmith, who told him that he would take about an hour to arrive, the man panicked and called the police for help.

He said that his wife just underwent leg surgery and if she had really fainted inside, he couldn’t wait an hour to get to her.

Officers broke into the unit to rescue her

The police then arrived at the scene with the SCDF officer who broke into the unit by sawing off the lock on the front gate.

The officers then entered the unit to check on the unconscious woman, but then found out that she had been sleeping the whole time.

Woman thought knocks & shouts were from renovation

The wife also spoke to SMDN and said that she heard the knocking and shouting, but thought that it came from the renovation works upstairs.

She added that she was shocked to see so many people inside the room when she finally woke up, and though something bad had happened.

The SCDF paramedics then checked her blood pressure just to be safe and left after determining that she was fine.

SCDF confirmed the incident and said that their officers conducted forced entry into the unit and one person was assessed for injuries but refused conveyance to the hospital.
