FOR DEFAMING ROYAL ON FB THAI MAN WAS JAILED FOR 35 YEARS!!

On Friday 9/6, for Facebook post consider insulting to the royal family a Thai man had to serve a jail sentence of 35 years. This was by far the strictest sentences given down for a crime that segregates Thailand’s ultra-rich monarchy from condemnation.

For uploading photos and videos of the royal family on a Facebook account that alleged to belong to a different user the 34-year-old was sentence to 10 counts of lese majeste by Bangkok military court .

“The court penalised him with seven years per count. Altogether he was given 70 years, but it was condensed in half because he own up,” said Yingcheep Atchanont from iLaw.
