The woman ended up suffering fractured ribs.

The food delivery rider was sentenced to a minimum of 12 months detention at a reformative training centre on 24 November.

What happened?

Izz had picked up a food delivery order on the night of 26 July earlier this year from a coffeeshop in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4. He then got on his PMD and rode towards the delivery location.

At about 10pm, Izz was speeding through the lift lobby at the same time as the victim, who was walking towards a lift at Block 644 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4.

Izz didn’t brake or try to evade the woman, and ultimately crashed into the victim, causing her to fall onto the ground while Izz fell off his PMD.

He then got back on his PMD and rode off instead of stopping to help the woman that he had crashed into.

A passerby heard the victim’s cries for help and ran over to see what happened, and saw the woman bleeding on the floor.

The passerby also saw Izz and told him to stop, but the latter continued riding away from the scene.

The police were then called and the victim was then sent to the hospital, where she was found with multiple injuries including fractures to her ribs, spine and foot.
