On 8 December 2022, I took my breakfast at TTSH kopitiam, a vegetarian stall number 05. I ordered 2 x dishes and a plain fried mee, which cost me $6.80. ( after 10% discount, I paid $6.12 ).

They replaced the takeaway item and charged me 0.30 for the green chilli instead! The female cashier actually told me that the chilli is chargeable item.
See my attached receipt and picture.
What do you guys think about such pricing in a hospital location?
Here are what netizens think:
- Way too expensive!Green chilli is normally FOC as accompaniment.
- This is a bit too much. Complain to the MP that said everything need to increase price. Chili also need to charge. I buy 1 big and sell back to them.
- i think they overcharge u really, i also like to eat from vegetarian shop and max it will coz 4+/5
- Takeaway container is generally charged whether big or small. However, to charge for a small pkt of green chilli is really too much.
- That “烧鹅” costs $2.50 is too much. $2.50 alone can get you bee hoon and 2 sides elsewhere. Yes, I always wonder why hospital food court must charge so high. Because doctors eat there?
- Ya this vegetarian stall overcharged me sometime back, and I never go back to them!
- $3-$3.50 at most, Hospital they charge expensive reason only customer paying visit to patient or hospital staff are having meal there.
- Luckily they never charge you the use of their plate.. I’m trying to means that they are ridiculous to charge anything beside the main dish.
- Hospital is the only place where Customers willingly pay for anything just to recover from hunger or sickness.
- The prices is to discourage outsiders eating there for the obviously reason, apart from the high rental and hygiene requirements since they are operating in a hospital.
