GUY GOT DUMPED BY GF BECAUSE HE DIDN’T REPLY HER MESSAGE FOR 4 HOURS WHILE AT WORK

My girlfriend broke up with me because I didn’t respond to her texts while I was at work

I usually work long hours (6:30am to 5:00pm) and many days I don’t take lunch breaks because I’m so busy. I have communicated this many times to my girlfriend and she seemed to understand.

However, today I had a particularly hectic and late day (worked past 6:30pm).

We text using the app WhatsApp, which I also frequently use for work related texts. I usually wait until the end of the day to reply to her texts even if I am on the app for work matters.

She broke up with me today because I was online on WhatsApp and didn’t respond to her texts for 4 hours this evening.

Am I crazy to think this is unreasonable? (Apologies for the poor writing I’m exhausted)

Netizens’ comments

  • I don’t think you’re crazy. If you’ve already communicated this to her, then she should have understood. I always try to tell my partner too when I’m busy.
Was she aware that you also use WhatsApp for work?
  • Is her reaction unreasonable? Yes. Is there anything you can really do about it? No.
Honestly if she’s willing to end a relationship just because she had to wait a couple hours for a reply to her text, it sounds like you two aren’t compatible.
  • On Watsapp you can actually disable the bit that shows you are “online”. It’s something they changed recently but I think most people don’t know this.
  • She sounds extremely immature with no concept of being responsible. It is unprofessional to be on your phone for non work related use. Most jobs it is dangerous to be on your phone. Move on and upgrade. Good luck
