A video emerged online showing an auntie being caught redhanded on a CCTV camera stealing from outside an HDB resident’s home.
The woman, seen in the video wearing blue, was seen “checking out” something that was left outside the resident’s unit.
She was seen acting suspiciously and looking around to make sure nobody was watching, before “diving” into the unidentified item outside the resident’s home.
Unbeknownst to the woman, there was a camera outside pointed right at her, as she took what appears to be a container and hurriedly left the scene.
Potential penalties
The offence of theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years, and a fine.
The offense of theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 carries a jail term of up to 3 years, or a fine, or both.
