As a huge soccer fan, I was so excited when the time came for the World Cup.
I had been looking forward to watching all the games with my boyfriend, and I was sure that we would bond over it.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
My boyfriend was an even bigger soccer fan than I was. He spent every spare minute watching games, talking about the teams and players, and following the news.
He was so obsessed that he barely had any time for me. I was hurt and frustrated and I tried to talk to him about it, but he just brushed me off.
I was about to give up on our relationship when the World Cup finally ended.
Now that it was over, my boyfriend suddenly had time for me again. We were able to start spending time together again and he even apologized for ignoring me during the tournament.
I was so relieved to finally have my boyfriend back. The World Cup had taken up so much of his attention that I was worried that he would never give me the same level of attention again.
But now that it was over, I could see that he was just as interested in spending time with me as he was with soccer.
We’ve been able to reconnect in a way that we hadn’t been able to in months.
We’re able to have conversations about all sorts of topics, not just soccer, and we’ve been able to reestablish our connection.
I feel like I finally have my boyfriend back now that the World Cup is over. We’ve been able to spend quality time together and have meaningful conversations again.
I’m so thankful that the World Cup is over, because it was starting to put a strain on our relationship.
Now that it’s over, I can finally enjoy being with my boyfriend again.
