A 60 year old fruit seller was detained for being aggressive and hurling crudities at three NEA officers on Monday. Based on Police accounts, the NEA officers were carrying out their repetitive spot checks along Arumugam Road in Ubi when they suspect were believed to be vending fruits deprived of a valid license.
At first the unnamed man, tried to flee the scene only be to caught. Up to this point that the man became restless. He first was to hit and head-butted the first NEA officer and spitted at the second NEA officer. He also thumped his car door on the third NEA officer. Throughout the episode, the man was flinging crudities at the men.
The man was bought to court on Wednesday, charged with using insulting language on a public officer.
