MAN ARRESTED FOR THEFT IN DWELLING

The Police have arrested a 29-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft in dwelling.

On 12 January 2023 at about 12.55 pm, the Police received a report that a gold chain was stolen from a pawnshop along Bedok North Street 1.

Through ground enquiries and swift follow-up action, officers from Bedok Police Division arrested the man within one hour of the report. The gold chain was also recovered.

The man will be charged in court on 14 January 2023 with theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence of theft in dwelling carries an imprisonment term which may extend to seven years and a fine.
