FIRE BROKE OUT AT CONDO CARPARK, PUBLIC MEMBERS PUT OUT FIRE USING 8 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

A car caught on fire at a condominium near Yishun’s Northpoint City on Chinese New Year’s eve and was put out by members of the public, according to STOMP.

A video of the aftermath of the incident was shared online, showing a group of firefighters examining a car as water poured from what appears to be the sprinkler system of the carpark.

Photos also emerged online, showing three fire engines outside North Park Residences, which is within the Northpoint City shopping malls.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that they were alerted to a fire that broke out at 31 Yishun Central 1, on 212 January at about 5.40pm.

SCDF said that the fire involved the interior of a car at the 3rd storey of a multi-storey carpark, and it was put out by members of the public using 8 dry-powder fire extinguishers.

No injuries were reported, and the authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
