According to an article by CNA, a driver who was driving a Prime mover truck passed away because the truck had fell into the waters off Keppel Terminal.
This was announced by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
Statement clarification
The MPA said that they were informed about the incident on Tuesday morning at around 2am and upon notification of the incident, the authorities immediately sent a patrol craft to help out in the following rescue operations.
Ultimately, the body of the driver was found inside the Prime mover by the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF).
The driver was also declared as dead by paramedics from SCDF.
The MPA also said that traffic movement in our port waters were not affected by the incident and investigations into the incident are being carried out.
SCDF received call for help around 1.45am
According to the article, SCDF received a call for help at around 1.45am and upon reaching Keppel Terminal, they saw a trailer protruding at the edge of the shipping berth.
The trailer had a prime mover which was attached to it and it had fell into the sea and was totally submerged.
The port operator of the terminal, which is the Port Authority of Singapore (PSA) had also help to prevent the trailer from having any movement before the SCDF could get any divers to conduct a search underwaters.
A body was thereafter retrieved from a prime mover which was totally submerged 14m deep into the sea.
No foul play suspected
As of this case, there were no foul play suspected and the police had also recognised the dead person from this incident as a man which is at 44 years of age.
The body of the deceased man was discovered around 4:30am
